We are pleased to provide you with the following news update, following our Annual General Meeting, held on February 3rd, 2011:
Executive Committee of the Barbados Reiki Association February 2011 – January 2012
The following persons were elected to serve for 2011 – 2012:

Sonia Johnson – Secretary
Rosina Wiltshire – Two-year Director
Juliette Rudder – One-year Director (Public Relations and Assistant Secretary)

Public Outreach and Inward Strengthening – New Format for BRA Monthly Meetings
The Association will continue to focus on spreading awareness of Reiki through outreach activities and participation in various health and wellness fairs, including its annual June Complementary Health Day. This year, the Association will also place renewed emphasis on fostering a common understanding among Reiki initiates, regardless of their lineage, as well as strengthening the Association’s members in their practice. As part of this initiative, there will be a change in the structure of monthly meetings, which will now start with group healing (45 minutes), followed by discussion of Association business (30 minutes) and end with a session of sharing on Reiki (45 minutes) that will take various forms, including Q & A, video presentation, and guided meditation etc. You can look forward to an exciting range off activities over the next 12 months!
Membership Application Form
The Association is introducing a new membership application form in order to stream-line its record-keeping process. All current members and Reiki initiates who are not yet members but wish to join the Association, are asked to complete the application form and return to the Association. The annual membership fee is BDS$50.
Next Monthly Meeting – March 3rd, 2011
Our next monthly meeting with the new format, will take place on Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Main Guard, The Garrison, St. Michael. The Reiki Reflection (sharing) will take the form of an open Question and Answer Session on Reiki. So do come out, ready to share, and please feel free to bring along a Reiki friend.
