Reiki Association to Hold “A Fair with a Different Flair”
New Therapies on Offer at 2018 Holistic Health Fair
With all the stresses of the current local, regional and world situation, there’s never been a better time for Barbadians to pay attention to their health. That’s the feeling of the Barbados Reiki Association, who once again will offer its annual one-of-a-kind Holistic Health Fair (HHF).
Under the theme “A Fair with a Different Flair”, HHF 2018 will bring together, in a single venue, a wide range of complementary healing therapies and wellness practices. It will be held at Harrison College, on Sunday April 8th from 9am to 5pm.
“This year’s Holistic Health Fair continues to show how much good health matters,” says Association President, Ms. Eugene Holder. “That’s why we’ve continued to broaden the range of complementary therapies on offer.”
One new event this year falls under the banner of art (or creative) therapy. Recent winner of the 2017 NIFCA Governor-General’s Award for Excellence, Linda Deane, will be running two workshops entitled “Put a Poem on It!” which will encourage patrons to explore healing through self-expression and creativity.
The fair also includes booths focusing on biodiversity, abuse, organic nail therapy, and much more. Healing therapies such as Reiki, reflexology, energy healing, aromatherapy, massage, and natural skin care will also be on offer.
“We’ll also have a full programme of holistic health and wellness talks and practical demonstrations,” adds Ms. Holder. “That will allow patrons to be better informed and to explore further healthful and holistic practices they can use to empower their own healing.”
Since it is a whole day event, patrons will have available a wide variety of healthy and wholesome food and drink to nourish and refresh themselves, from coconut water to vegan and vegetarian dishes.
Admission to the 2018 Fair remains at $5, with the price per therapy capped at $20 to allow patrons to enjoy several therapies. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Eugene Holder, the Association’s President at : +1 246 822 7145.
